In 50 years I think the Aventador is going to look overstyled and played out and the Murcielago is going to look like the Muira looks today.

I completely agree. Hard to believe that the Murcielago can be considered understated in this age of supercars

In 50 years? Hell. The Aventador looks played out even today.

Right? The Aventador SV looks like a bad body kit

I agree completely. I actually hated the Merci when it was out, thought it was really boring compared to the Diablo, but god damn has it aged well.

i have a feeling we are all products of our own generations.
i feel like the diablo is kind of crass, the murci is a bit bland, and the aventador was designed with a protactor. countaches though? sure! i’ll have one in every color!
(my guess is i’m 10-15 years older than you, mirroring the time between when the countach and murcielago were in production)

It’s kinda hideous.

Yeah, completely agree. I’m more partial to earlier Murcielagos though.
I think it comes down to simplicity in design. The more overwrought and visually complex a car is, the faster it will age. The Murcielago and Aventador are perfect examples. Another one:
Both are 2006 model year... you can easily tell which car aged better. Slap some gills/whatever and LEDS on the S2000 and call it new, almost.

They’ve aged very well. The first Murcielagos are the prettiest post-1975 Lamborghinis built. For better or worse, when painted more subdued colors they actually blend in to the crowd - my entire family once walked right past one in a Trader Joe’s parking lot without noticing what it was.
Plus, you could get the SV in manual. Five people did.

I’m 2o right now, and I think you’re probably right. Still a fan of the Countach though, they’re stunning in person.

I agree but the regular ones look pretty stunning.

Mmmmm...

I definitely feel like the Murcielago is the best most recent made Lambo.

yup. i’m smack in the middle of my 30s
and yes, they are stunning in person, but even more so when out on the road.

The Murcielago is, IMO, the only beautiful modern Lamborghini. And as soon as I have acquired the funds, I will have one, in manual of course.

That’s the point.

I’ll take an LP640 all day everyday.

You can’t commend it for restrained styling if you’re posting the absurd SV!
Personally I think the original Murci roadster is best of bunch. It’s mean without being childish, and the semi-targa semi-roadster thing works for me.
